Social Studies Teacher

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Social Studies Teacher to deliver the UAE Social Studies curriculum to a diverse student body. You will uphold GEMS Core Values and contribute to a culture of academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons that meet the UAE curriculum standards.
• Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, assessments, attendance and teaching resources.
• Assess, record and report on student progress, adapting instruction to meet individual needs including ESL, low‑ability and gifted learners.
• Utilise media and technology to enhance classroom learning.
• Participate in co‑curricular and extra‑curricular activities for a minimum of two hours per week.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of student progress while respecting confidentiality.
• Support school events, pastoral care and uphold child protection policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the UAE Social Studies curriculum.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for varied learning styles and abilities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

• Proficiency in using classroom technology and media resources.
