Software Engineer - Java Back End

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain high‑performance Java back‑end services for our banking platform in Dubai. The role focuses on building secure, scalable micro‑services on Azure and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise‑grade backend services, APIs and micro‑services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Build secure, resilient banking applications supporting digital, mobile and corporate channels.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event‑driven services following enterprise API standards.
• Deploy, monitor and support applications on Microsoft Azure (AKS, App Services, Key Vault, etc.).
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, security teams and product squads to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS and other security controls.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimise performance and support release management.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, design and code reviews, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 3 years building Spring Boot micro‑services.
• Proven experience delivering solutions in banking, fintech or payments domains.
• Strong understanding of regulated environments, security, audit and compliance requirements.
• Experience with API gateways (e.g., Kong, Layer7) and enterprise integration patterns.
• Ability to work in an Agile, cross‑functional team and communicate technical concepts clearly.
