Software Engineer – Orchestration

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Callsign you will design, build, and maintain components of a highly transactional Java platform, working in an Agile, fast‑paced environment alongside cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and performant software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Java‑based services and APIs.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in refinement sessions, code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Support production deployments, troubleshoot issues and collaborate with SRE/App Support.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks and ensure observability.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of commercial Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java (8+/17+), Spring Boot and RESTful API design.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and SQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL (DynamoDB), Docker, Linux and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software testing principles, OOP, SOLID and algorithmic complexity.
