Software Engineering Intern (Full-Stack, Node/React)

About the role

DataFlow, a provider of Primary Source Verification (PSV) services, is looking for a Software Engineering Intern in its Information Technology Group in Dubai, UAE. The intern works from the office and learns the full software development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and maintenance, supporting high-performance applications used by clients across the UAE and the GCC. The role focuses on Full-Stack development (Node/React) in a cloud-based environment, alongside senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coding, testing and debugging new features, and help maintain code quality and consistency.
• Learn modern software architectures and design patterns under guidance, and document development processes and system changes.
• Support day-to-day deployment and maintenance of applications, and assist with cloud-based architecture and application management (AWS preferred).
• Take part in code reviews and learn about CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Shadow senior engineers when they communicate project status and technical details, and help gather basic requirements with internal department heads.

Required profile

• No experience required; demonstrated interest in software engineering through coursework, personal projects or hackathons.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Native Arabic speaker with strong verbal communication skills and good English.
• Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward learning.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Full-Stack development, preferably with Node.js or React.
• Understanding of fundamental programming concepts and data structures.
• Willingness to learn RESTful APIs.
• Preferred: SQL and NoSQL, Git, and interest in AI-driven code development.
