Software Quality Tester (Islamic Banking)

About the role

The SQA tester ensures the quality, reliability and compliance of all software applications and systems used in the bank, with a particular focus on Islamic banking principles. The role centres on testing the Enterprise Fraud Risk Management System (EFRMS) and Device Intelligence and Behavior Analytics (DI & BA) systems and their interfaces such as Core Banking, Internet and Mobile Banking, FOS/LOS and payment systems like AANI.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute manual and automated test cases
• Carry out functional, regression and integration testing
• Validate EFRMS and DI & BA modules and their interfaces
• Review new or modified programs, diagrams and flow charts against user requests and guidelines
• Recommend improvements or corrections to programmers
• Perform API and backend database testing to ensure data integrity
• Record, document and track defects in a tool such as ALM or Jira, and coordinate with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes
• Set up tests at user request to find and correct errors after installation
• Identify gaps between standards and applications and suggest modifications

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field
• Preferred certification or coursework in Islamic Finance/Banking
• Minimum 3-5 years of software testing or quality assurance experience in the banking industry
• Hands-on experience with EFRMS, DI & BA, Core Banking, Internet and Mobile Banking, payment systems, FOS/LOS and other channels
• Understanding of SDLC and STLC, test planning, test case design and defect management

Required skills

• Proficiency in performance testing, test automation tools and test management systems
• Familiarity with SQL, API testing and basic scripting
• Testing certification such as ISTQB Foundation Level or CSTE Certified Software Tester
• Analytical mindset, excellent communication and documentation skills, and ability to work in cross-functional teams
