Solutions Architect Deployment Strategist

About the role

Planet’s Professional Services team is looking for a Solutions Architect to help Defense and Intelligence customers adopt and extend the Planet Platform. You will work on‑site with customers in Abu Dhabi, translating requirements into integrated workflows, training users, and feeding product feedback to engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Understand client needs and design tailored data‑integration solutions.
• Configure integrations, define data models, and prototype workflows that align with mission requirements.
• Train end‑users, iterate in real time, and ensure solutions become mission‑critical.
• Communicate technical capabilities to customers and translate operational requirements into actionable product feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience supporting Defense & Intelligence customers with systems integration.
• Strong problem‑solving, stakeholder management and ability to work in ambiguous, high‑pressure environments.

Required skills

• Fluent in Golang, Python, PostgreSQL and React (or related front‑end technologies).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and large‑scale deployments.
• Knowledge of JavaScript mapping libraries (OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API) and geospatial tools such as Google Earth Engine.
• Familiarity with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL) and NoSQL distributed databases.
