Solutions Architect – Deployment Strategist

About the role

Planet’s Professional Services Global Defense & Intelligence team is seeking a Solutions Architect to implement, integrate, and analyse new software and data products that extend the Planet Platform for strategic D&I customers. The role is based onsite in Abu Dhabi and involves close collaboration with customers to train users, translate requirements, and design mission‑critical workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions, breaking down high‑stakes problems into solvable components.
• Design workflows, define data models, configure integrations and help define tooling aligned with the customer’s mission.
• Train users, iterate in real time, and ensure Planet solutions become mission‑critical to daily operations.
• Translate operational requirements into actionable product feedback for Planet’s engineering teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience supporting Defense & Intelligence customers with systems integration.
• Fluent in Golang, Python, PostgreSQL and React (or related technologies).
• Experience with cloud deployments on GCP, AWS or Azure.
