Sous Chef – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

The Sous Chef will support the Chef de cuisine in running the kitchen of the 5‑star SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences. In the absence of the Chef de cuisine, the role takes full responsibility for kitchen operations, staff management and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure food preparation and presentation meet brand standards.
• Supervise, train and schedule kitchen staff, monitoring time‑keeping and performance.
• Maintain budgets, control food costs, manage stock levels and place orders with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and food temperature regulations.
• Handle guest feedback, complete required paperwork and use Oasys reporting tools.

Required profile

• One to two years of experience in a public‑contact position within an upscale or lifestyle hotel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Positive, friendly demeanor and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oasys kitchen management software.
• Experience using point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
