Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is looking for an experienced Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon to diagnose and manage diseases of the gastrointestinal tract through surgical and minimally invasive procedures. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in gastrointestinal surgery, laparoscopic techniques and the management of complex abdominal and digestive conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and abdominal surgical conditions
• Perform elective and emergency gastrointestinal surgical procedures
• Manage conditions of the stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder and other digestive organs
• Perform laparoscopic and minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgeries where qualified
• Conduct preoperative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans
• Provide postoperative care and monitor patient recovery
• Manage surgical complications and gastrointestinal emergencies
• Coordinate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists
• Maintain accurate medical records and uphold high standards of patient safety and care

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent internationally recognized primary medical qualification
• Master's degree, postgraduate specialist qualification, fellowship or equivalent in General Surgery or Gastrointestinal Surgery
• Additional fellowship or advanced specialist training in Gastrointestinal Surgery is an advantage
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience preferred
• Excellent surgical skills, clinical judgment and patient-management abilities
