Specialist – Logistics – Land Transportation (Trucks)

About the role

The Specialist – Logistics – Land Transportation (Trucks) is responsible for managing flat‑bed truck transportation auctions and commercial negotiations to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of finished steel. This role supports sales order fulfillment by securing competitive rates and coordinating capacity with transport partners.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly UAE flat‑bed truck transportation auctions on SCH and award rates, routes, and transporters.
• Coordinate with transporters to confirm truck availability and capacity ahead of each auction cycle.
• Conduct commercial negotiations for export shipments via Fujairah and Sohar.
• Report capacity shortfalls that could affect sales delivery commitments.
• Hand over awarded auction results for contract issuance and SAP rate upload.
• Support invoice verification by providing auction‑awarded rate data.
• Monitor and flag inland trucking capacity constraints impacting vessel discharge or container evacuation.
• Communicate transporter performance issues and provide rate confirmations for invoice reconciliation.
• Continuously improve truck contracts from safety, commercial, and operational perspectives.
• Update management on capacity risks and auction irregularities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Shipping and Logistics Diploma or Certificate from a recognized institute.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in land transportation, logistics, or auction/tender processes.
