Specialist Rotating Engineer for Offshore Subsea Project

About the role

KBR is expanding its Project Management Consultancy team for a high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The Specialist Rotating Engineer will provide expert engineering support for rotating equipment across ADNOC offshore assets, ensuring reliability, performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Subject Matter Expert for rotating equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps, blowers, fans, gearboxes, mechanical seals, couplings and bearings.
• Develop specifications, datasheets and procurement packages for new projects and modifications, and support FEED, EPC, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Monitor equipment reliability, lead root‑cause failure analysis, review vibration, thermography and condition‑monitoring reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting, review preventive/predictive strategies, and advise on upgrades, retrofits and life‑extension initiatives.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, FAT/SAT witnessing and ensure compliance with API, ISO, ASME and ADNOC standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's advantageous); Chartered Engineer or relevant professional certification preferred.
• 15+ years of rotating equipment engineering experience, with at least 5 years in offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Proven experience in gas compression systems, power generation packages, critical pumps, turbomachinery, reliability engineering and equipment commissioning.

Required skills

• Rotating equipment design & selection, machinery diagnostics, vibration analysis, reliability‑centered maintenance, root‑cause analysis and condition monitoring.
• Familiarity with API standards (610, 617, 618, 611, 612, 614), ISO, ASME and offshore regulations.
• Use of SAP PM/CMMS, risk‑based inspection and offshore project engineering tools.
