Speech Therapist

About the role

A client of Black Pearl Consult in Abu Dhabi, which is part of one of the UAE's largest government-affiliated healthcare networks, is looking for a dedicated Speech Therapist. The therapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders; experience with pediatric patients is highly preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients with communication and swallowing difficulties using standardized tools and clinical evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for speech, language and swallowing challenges.
• Provide therapy for developmental delays, neurological disorders, hearing impairments and post-stroke rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists and other professionals in a multidisciplinary team.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on therapy techniques and home exercises.
• Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up to date with advances in speech-language pathology and therapy techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy/Pathology or a related field.
• Valid UAE healthcare professional license or eligibility to obtain one.
• At least 3 years of clinical speech therapy experience, with pediatric exposure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and counseling skills.
• Ability to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients and families.
