Staff Accountant – AI Training Specialist

About the role

Ethos is partnering with a leading AI lab to train a new language model on professional accounting tasks. You will work remotely, creating, evaluating, and refining AI‑generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks that support core finance workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and review monthly close reconciliations and journal entry packages.
• Develop audit request schedules, PBC documentation, and vendor/expense audit trail spreadsheets.
• Generate accounts payable/receivable aging reports, budget‑to‑actual variance summaries, and internal‑control walkthroughs.
• Support SOX testing memos and slide‑deck preparation for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting, financial operations, or audit support.
• Hands‑on ownership of close reconciliations and audit request schedules.
• Deep fluency in GAAP and PBC documentation standards.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros).
• Expertise with XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, GAAP, PBC documentation standards.
• Strong document, spreadsheet, and slide‑deck craftsmanship with excellent written communication.
