Staff Nurse (Critical Care) – MedSurg ICU

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking experienced MedSurg Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses to join its Critical Care team. The role involves delivering direct and indirect patient care to adults and children in a high‑acuity MedSurg ICU environment, applying evidence‑based nursing practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive admission assessments and ongoing patient monitoring.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized care plans based on nursing theory and clinical judgment.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved protocols.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, medication use, equipment, and nutrition.
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Supervise Practical Nurses and collaborate with multidisciplinary health‑care professionals.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives and uphold patient safety and Magnet principles.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of recent MedSurg ICU experience (or equivalent transplant or critical‑care nursing background).
• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UAE.
• Demonstrated competence in assessing behavioral, developmental, and psychosocial needs of patients.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and deliver courteous patient‑centered care.
