Staff Nurse - Tower B5, Medical Wing

About the role

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City is hiring a Staff Nurse for Tower B5, Medical Wing, in Abu Dhabi. The nurse coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education and transitions of care, while supporting professional nursing practice across the continuum of care. The role follows the Nursing Scope of Practice and the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs), interpret findings, prioritize risks and document data.
• Identify expected outcomes and develop an individualized, culturally appropriate plan of care, revising it as the patient's status changes.
• Implement the plan of care with evidence-based interventions, perform treatments and procedures, administer medications and communicate across care levels.
• Teach patients and families, use teach-back, and document health education.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes, provide clinical handovers and attend care rounds, updating the attending provider on changes in condition.
• Integrate evidence and research into practice and take part in performance improvement projects.
• Lead by example, coordinate delegated tasks, supervise practical nurses, junior staff and student nurses, and respond to emergencies in line with organizational policy.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of clinical experience after qualification in an appropriate setting.
• Experience requirement waived for graduates of UAE nursing colleges or universities.
