Staff Nurse – Urgent Care & General OPD

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse for its Urgent Care and General OPD unit. You will provide age‑specific, patient‑centered care across paediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, ensuring safe and effective treatment in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments using age‑appropriate techniques and document findings in the medical record.
• Coordinate and prioritize care plans with a multidisciplinary team, revising them as needed and initiating appropriate transfers.
• Maintain unit supplies, equipment, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) mandatory education.
• Handle narcotic and controlled drugs safely, and complete required competency assessments such as pain management and emergency department devices.
• Support satellite clinic functions: book appointments, follow up on diagnostic tests, keep consultation rooms stocked, and manage crash‑cart and equipment checks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3‑year program) or equivalent degree (minimum 2‑year program).
• Registered Nurse licence from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia or a valid UAE licence for nationals.
• Minimum two (2) years of recent post‑graduate nursing experience.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is essential.
