Consultant Radiology – Breast Imaging

About the role

The Consultant Radiology (Breast Imaging) will lead and supervise high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care, diagnosing, managing and treating patients within the specialty. The role includes providing clinical leadership, training junior staff and contributing to departmental quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in performance management, peer review, productivity and utilization reviews, and support scheduling and coverage for the division.
• Lead ward rounds, review investigations, modify treatment plans, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Specialist certification in radiology with a focus on breast imaging.
• Tier 1: Minimum 2 years post‑board consultant experience, or Tier 2: Minimum 8 years full‑time consultant experience.
• For UAE nationals, clinical fellowship training may substitute for experience as defined.
• Commitment to continued medical education, clinical research and supervision of junior staff.
