Steel Fixing Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Steel Fixing Supervisor to lead reinforcement works on our Oil & Gas EPC projects in the UAE. You will ensure that all steel fixing activities are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily steel fixing activities, reviewing drawings, BBS, and project schedules.
• Supervise reinforcement installation for foundations, equipment bases, pipe racks, buildings, retaining walls, tanks and other heavy civil structures.
• Allocate manpower and resources, forecast material needs, and ensure timely mobilisation of crews and equipment.
• Monitor compliance with specifications, spacing, laps, couplers, anchorage lengths and clear cover.
• Conduct toolbox talks, enforce HSE requirements, and manage Permit‑to‑Work, JSA and risk assessments.
• Maintain quality records, coordinate inspections, and minimise NCRs.
• Prepare daily progress reports, attend coordination meetings and communicate site constraints.
• Oversee steel inventory, consumables and tool maintenance to reduce wastage.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience in steel fixing and reinforced concrete construction.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role on Oil & Gas EPC or heavy civil projects.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven ability to manage large steel fixing teams on complex sites.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete construction and steel fixing methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, reinforcement detailing and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
• Familiarity with international construction standards and reinforced concrete codes.
• Understanding of Oil & Gas HSE requirements, PTW systems, JSA and risk management.
• Expertise in rebar cutting, bending, fixing, couplers, embeds and reinforcement inspection.
