Store General Manager – Supermarket

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store General Manager – Everyday Goods Retail to lead one of our flagship supermarket stores, driving commercial success while building a high‑performing team and delivering an outstanding shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of store operations to achieve sales, profitability and operational targets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies, manage KPIs and drive commercial performance.
• Foster a customer‑first culture to ensure exceptional service.
• Coach, mentor and develop store leadership and frontline teams.
• Oversee inventory management, stock availability and replenishment.
• Monitor operational KPIs such as productivity, shrinkage, waste, stock accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain health & safety, food safety, security and overall operational excellence.
• Analyze business performance and implement initiatives to improve sales and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of retail operations experience, with at least 5 years leading large‑format stores.
• Proven experience managing supermarkets, hypermarkets or high‑volume retail environments.
• Track record of delivering commercial results and operational excellence.
• Strong leadership skills with experience developing large teams.
• Excellent understanding of store operations, inventory management, merchandising and customer service.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret KPIs and make data‑driven decisions.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
