Stores Supervisor (Emirati Talent)

About the role

LAHAB, part of EDGE Group, is the UAE's sole military-grade munitions manufacturer, producing and testing small-, medium- and large-calibre ammunition. The Stores Supervisor receives, stores, issues and controls the flow of all materials in and out of the stores, and oversees shipment, customs clearance and forwarding. The position is open to Emirati nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Work under the Team Leader, SCM to run daily stores operations of explosive and non-explosive stores.
• Handle goods, components, ammunition, explosives and hazardous materials only after thorough on-the-job training.
• Keep explosives and ammunition within allowed explosive limits.
• Receive imports and local deliveries by offloading with forklifts and other equipment, and inspect items for quality and quantity against shipment documents.
• Count, weigh and verify goods received or issued, enter data into stock and inventory systems, and take part in bi-annual physical stock takes.
• Keep physical and system stock matched in AX and deliver materials to production on time.
• Maintain store appearance, cleanliness, stock control, transportation, safety and security.
• Ensure accurate allocation and storage of explosives and components, and meet HSE objectives and audit requirements.
• Manage staff on shipment, customs clearance and forwarding, and coordinate MOD and GHQ arrangements and approvals for explosive and ammunition shipments.
• Aim for zero demurrage and storage payments on imports, and prepare the stores and logistics budget.
• Update stores and logistics procedures and supply chain policy, and track third-party ammunition.

Required profile

• Certified warehouse and logistics qualification or training.
• Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in warehousing and logistics.
• Understanding of confidentiality matters related to procurement and supplier qualifications.
• English proficiency is required.
