Structural Engineer (Bridges / Roads Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Structural Engineer to join a supervision project in Dubai. You will oversee and manage the structural engineering aspects of new roads and bridges.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate structural engineering activities on construction sites
• Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans and quality standards
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues
• Follow up set inspections, review inspectors' performance regularly and update progress for assigned works in the project manager's reports
• Update records that will form the as-built records and check and coordinate all assigned services
• Coordinate with Head Office (Design) on material reviews and design queries
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures for structural elements
• Mentor junior engineers and team members technically
• Take part in client meetings and presentations on project progress

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
• At least 8 years of experience supervising the operation and maintenance of bridges and roads
• Experience managing large-scale construction projects
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and willingness to travel to project sites across the UAE
• Appointed status preferred

• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry standards in the UAE
• Project management skills to handle multiple projects at once
• Technical report writing and communication
• In-depth understanding of building materials, methods and quality control
