Structural Inspector - Site

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in the Middle East, is looking for a detail-oriented Structural Inspector to join its supervision team in Dubai. You will ensure that all structural works on site are carried out in strict accordance with approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements and UAE authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily site inspections of structural works against approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities and verify compliance with UAE authority requirements and international standards.
• Identify deviations and issue Site Observation Reports (SOR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) with clear recommendations.
• Review and validate inspections of concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations and waterproofing interfaces.
• Work with engineers, architects and specialists to resolve structural issues and check that corrective actions meet project requirements.
• Check that contractors keep proper documentation, testing and quality records (cube tests, FDT, plate load tests, calibration certificates).
• Ensure works follow approved method statements, ITPs and QA/QC procedures, and give contractors clear guidance on site issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records with photos and comments, use digital inspection platforms and QA/QC systems, and communicate results through technical reports.
• Follow health and safety protocols during inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 8 years of structural site inspection experience in the UAE construction industry; consultant experience preferred.
• Valid UAE driver's licence and ability to travel between project sites; physically able to access structural elements in constrained or elevated locations.
• Immediate availability to start.
• Preferred: site safety certifications (OSHA, NEBOSH or equivalent), experience preparing NCRs and SORs, knowledge of concrete testing protocols, photography skills for inspection records, Arabic proficiency.

Required skills

• Interpretation of IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, ITPs and method statements.
• Proficiency in standard inspection tools, site testing coordination and documentation procedures.
• Digital inspection platforms or QA/QC systems.
• Technical report writing and strong English communication.
