Student Information System Manager

About the role

The Student Information System Manager provides senior functional leadership for the university’s Banner SaaS platform, ensuring that academic policies, research‑based program structures and operational processes are accurately reflected in the system. This role acts as the primary bridge between the Registrar’s Office, IT, academic stakeholders and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end implementation, configuration and continuous evolution of Banner, managing milestones, risks and cut‑over readiness.
• Translate Registrar policies and academic regulations into scalable system logic and standard operating procedures.
• Design and execute business‑driven user acceptance testing, oversee post‑go‑live stabilization and defect triage.
• Develop and deliver role‑based training, change‑enablement communications and online learning resources for faculty and staff.
• Define academic data standards, govern business rules and partner with Institutional Research to produce trusted dashboards and regulatory reports.
• Serve as the academic authority for integrations with LMS, ERP/Finance, CRM and identity management systems, ensuring coherent end‑to‑end processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; postgraduate degree preferred.
• 6‑10 years of experience in student systems/registrar operations or higher‑ed business systems, with hands‑on ownership of processes.
• Proven experience leading SIS implementations or major upgrades, preferably with Ellucian Banner.
• Strong business analysis, documentation and UAT leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and training abilities for non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Ellucian Banner (SIS) configuration and module knowledge (Registration, Student Records, Curriculum, Degree Audit).
• API/Ethos integration concepts and experience linking SIS with LMS, ERP/Finance and other campus systems.
• Reporting and data governance practices in a higher‑education context.
