Systems Engineer

About the role

ADCB is looking for a Systems Engineer to join its Group Business Service (GBS) team in Abu Dhabi. The role covers engineering delivery, vendor coordination, project support and team leadership, supporting cross-functional squads with cloud-native, secure platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, maintain and upgrade cloud-native, secure platforms, components, systems and applications.
• Maintain documentation covering design, implementation, maintenance and operations.
• Take part in and run code reviews, and review data structures to improve performance.
• Work with engineering teams on change control, testing, incident management, troubleshooting and release management.
• Manage technical debt within set thresholds and apply security best practices.
• Coordinate with vendors on SLAs and turnaround times, and review their product solutions against project architecture.
• Support project managers with dependencies, timelines and status updates, and coordinate technology transitions between engineering and operations.
• Resolve issues reported by business users, using escalation processes where needed.
• Manage the team in line with bank policies, and promote continuous improvement and customer service standards.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience in systems administration in a large-scale production environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in incident management, software release management, configuration management and banking operations support.

Required skills

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
• ITIL Foundation certification for IT service management
• Problem management and analysis, organization and capacity planning
• Middleware technologies
