Tagalog Speaking Commis Chef 1 for Western Style Restaurants

About the role

The Commis Chef 1 supports daily kitchen operations in Western‑style restaurants, ensuring food production meets quality and hygiene standards while assisting the Chef de Partie and Sous‑Chef.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie or Sous‑Chef in culinary operations and maintain clear internal communications.
• Prepare dishes according to standard recipes, ensuring flavour, temperature, presentation and quality meet guest expectations.
• Monitor kitchen equipment, report defects, and follow safety and food‑hygiene regulations.
• Control breakage, spoilage and food costs, and manage food storage, sanitation and inventory.
• Participate in meetings, share feedback and maintain positive relations with staff and other departments.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of kitchen experience, including at least 18 months as a Commis 2.
• High school diploma or equivalent professional training.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Willingness to work indoors in noisy, dusty or fume‑filled environments and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
