About the role

The Teaching and Learning Specialist advances teaching and learning at NYU Abu Dhabi by partnering with faculty, academic staff, and students. The role focuses on designing, piloting, and scaling evidence‑based instructional and assessment practices within a diverse, global liberal arts context.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and apply research on teaching and learning to inform instructional practices and institutional initiatives.
• Translate evidence and data (student and faculty feedback, surveys, learning analytics) into actionable insights and resources.
• Collaborate with faculty as disciplinary experts to co‑design courses, assignments, and assessments.
• Support faculty development initiatives, including new faculty orientation and peer observation programs.
• Co‑design and implement pilot projects exploring innovative and AI‑integrated teaching and assessment approaches.
• Develop and disseminate AI‑related guidelines, policies, and support resources for faculty.
• Engage students as partners in teaching and learning initiatives, including AI student liaison programs.

Required profile

• Experience collaborating with faculty, academic staff, and students on instructional design.
• Familiarity with evidence‑based teaching practices and learning analytics.
• Ability to conduct scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) research.
• Interest in integrating AI and emerging technologies into pedagogy.
