Team Leader – AMC Special Processes

About the role

The Team Leader – AMC Special Processes will manage specialized workshops within the flydubai Aircraft Maintenance Centre. This role ensures safe, compliant, and high‑quality execution of electroplating, shot peening, machining, heat treatment, paint, and related processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, layout development, equipment selection and commissioning of Machine, Paint, Heat Treatment, and Decal & Engraving shops.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Electroplating, Shot Peening, Machine and Paint shops, ensuring adherence to flydubai procedures, OEM manuals and GCAA/EASA regulations.
• Develop, review and maintain shop procedures, work instructions and forms, submitting them for approval.
• Allocate workload, manage manpower, and produce staff availability reports to meet production targets and turnaround times.
• Review work orders, process records, inspection reports and release documentation for accuracy.
• Support internal, external and regulatory audits by ensuring documentation compliance.
• Coordinate equipment serviceability, calibration and maintenance with materials and calibration teams.
• Identify shortfalls in manpower, tools, equipment or safety provisions and provide technical input for procurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation engineering or a related science.
• Fluent English and a valid UAE driving licence.
• Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience in specialized aerospace processes and shop setup.
• OEM‑approved training or certification in peening and plating/coating or aircraft painting.
• Preferred knowledge of machining, heat treatment, surface etching, paint mixing, decal engraving and damage assessment.
• Relevant NDT certification (MT, PT, ET, UT) is a plus.
