Technical Buyer - Electronics

About the role

EDGE Group is hiring a Technical Buyer Electronics for its Advanced Concepts unit, which designs and deploys advanced technologies including autonomous systems, loitering munitions, cruise missiles and guided artillery munitions. You will lead end-to-end technical procurement of advanced engineering components, manage global supply chains and rapid prototyping requirements under strict timelines and budgets, and lead supplier negotiations and team supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing and procurement of electrical components such as PCBs, electrical motors, ESC/power electronics, electro-optics, RF and antennas, and energy conversion and batteries, selecting suppliers who can meet time, cost and quality constraints.
• Drive the supply chain by finding suitable suppliers and coordinating sourcing, ordering, receiving and testing within deadlines.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (functional departments, project management, finance, suppliers, authorities) to ensure timely delivery.
• Support strategic planning, define procurement requirements, and develop and execute procurement plans and budgets.
• Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, verify invoices and maintain records.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and increase value.
• Allocate purchase requisitions to Procurement Officers and supervise and develop the team.

Required profile

• Preferred: 12 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain management, with proven contract negotiation and supplier management.
• Preferred: engineering degree (electrical-related ideally); minimum: bachelor's degree in business administration, finance and accounts, supply chain management or procurement and logistics.
• Preferred: CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification or equivalent.
• English proficiency is required for all roles.

Required skills

• Familiarity with procurement ERP systems such as SAP.
• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes.
• Proficiency in sourcing and procurement strategies and techniques.
