Technical Manager – Joinery & Interior Fit-Out

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is looking for an experienced Technical Head for Joinery & Interior Fit-Out to lead the technical drafting function. The role covers joinery detailing, shop drawings, production drawings and the technical documentation needed for manufacturing and site execution. It suits a technically strong professional who can manage a drafting team, ensure drawing accuracy, coordinate with operations and project teams, and support projects from design approval through production and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and manage the drafting team, including workload allocation and daily task planning.
• Review, prepare and approve detailed shop drawings, production drawings and joinery documentation.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete and compliant with project requirements.
• Coordinate with operations managers, project teams, production teams and site teams.
• Monitor drafting progress and report regularly on team productivity and project status.
• Ensure drawings are submitted on time and review them for constructability, detailing accuracy and manufacturing needs.
• Guide draftsmen on joinery detailing, materials and production processes, and maintain quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement of drafting processes and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in joinery and interior fit-out drafting.
• Experience leading and supervising a team of draftsmen.
• Background in luxury residential, hospitality, commercial or retail fit-out projects.
• Experience working with joinery manufacturers or interior fit-out contractors.
• Strong communication and email skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
• Knowledge of Revit and/or SketchUp is an advantage.
• Joinery detailing, shop drawings and production drawings.
• Understanding of joinery materials, manufacturing processes, fabrication, material selection and site installation.
