Technical Support Engineer (Fresh Graduates)

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer provides high‑quality technical assistance to learners, staff and faculty, ensuring smooth operation of IT services across the university. This entry‑level position combines hands‑on support, server administration and occasional training duties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑level support to users face‑to‑face or remotely, logging and resolving tickets promptly.
• Support internal and external events by gathering requirements, preparing equipment, testing and providing on‑site assistance.
• Administer servers and applications such as Active Directory, antivirus, backup and print services.
• Maintain hardware/software inventory and monitor audio‑video systems, performing corrective actions as needed.
• Provide hardware and software support for desktops, printers, scanners and related peripherals.
• Conduct end‑user testing of applications, track bugs and communicate results.
• Participate in special projects, document deliverables and report security incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• ITIL V3 certification (additional Microsoft, Cisco or Apple certifications are a plus).
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows and macOS desktop support.
• Administration of Active Directory, antivirus and backup systems.
• Experience with printers, scanners and audio‑video equipment (projectors, mixers).
• Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP and basic networking concepts.
