Telephone Operator – Guest Services

About the role

The Telephone Operator provides essential guest communication support for Aloft Abu Dhabi, handling all inbound and outbound calls, messages and special requests. This front‑line position ensures a seamless experience for guests by managing the hotel switchboard and coordinating with other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Answer, record, log and process all guest calls, requests, questions and concerns.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, handling wake‑up calls, screening calls, do‑not‑disturb, call forwarding, conference calls, TDD relay calls and non‑registered guest calls.
• Advise guests of messages, monitor busy or unanswered lines, and offer to take messages.
• Activate/deactivate guest room message lights and instruct guests on internet access, escalating technical issues to the provider’s support line.
• Test communications equipment, respond to special guest needs, and dispatch bell or valet staff as required.
• Follow all company policies, maintain confidentiality, and ensure a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses needed.

Required skills

• Telephone switchboard operation.
• Basic computer usage.
• Familiarity with POS (point‑of‑sale) systems.
