Trade Finance Officer

About the role

RAKBANK is looking for a Trade Finance Officer in Dubai who will process and control trade finance transactions while keeping them compliant with bank policies, regulatory requirements and international trade standards. The role covers both funded and non-funded trade products and supports operational excellence, risk mitigation and good service to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Process trade finance transactions such as Letters of Credit (import and export), bank guarantees, documentary collections, shipping guarantees, trust receipts and related amendments.
• Review trade documents against approved facilities, internal policies, regulations and international trade rules.
• Verify customer instructions and supporting documents before executing transactions.
• Monitor maturities, outstanding obligations and pending cases, and liaise with customers, correspondent banks and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and discrepancies.
• Support settlement and funding activities and maintain accurate records, documentation and filing in line with audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with UCP 600, URDG, ISP98, ICC guidelines, AML procedures, sanctions screening and internal compliance standards.
• Identify and escalate operational, transactional and compliance risks, support internal and external audits, and contribute to process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Commerce, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations within a banking or financial services environment.
• Good understanding of funded and non-funded trade finance products and working knowledge of international trade practices, SWIFT messaging and trade finance systems.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective stakeholder management and communication.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UCP 600, URDG, ISP98, ICC guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of AML, sanctions compliance and operational risk controls.
• Proficiency in banking applications and Microsoft Office tools.
