Traveling Construction Superintendent

About the role

BRPH, an employee-owned architecture, engineering and construction firm, is hiring a traveling Construction Superintendent who will work across the USA and internationally. The role plans, directs and coordinates construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems, taking part in the conceptual development of a project and overseeing its organization, scheduling, budgeting, implementation and completion. Travel is expected and may be required on projects lasting 6 to 8 months or longer until completion.

US citizenship is required, along with a current and valid US passport.

Key responsibilities

• Establish a strong safety culture at the job site and monitor contractors, subcontractors and employees for compliance with safety regulations and OSHA.
• Plan, schedule or coordinate construction activities to meet deadlines, and prepare budget estimates, progress reports and cost tracking reports.
• Inspect projects for compliance with construction documents, building and safety codes, and environmental regulations.
• Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and investigate damage, safety incidents or delays.
• Confer with supervisors, owners, contractors and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
• Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop or implement quality control programs.

Required profile

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited university with at least 3 years of relevant, progressive experience.
• Ability to navigate a construction site, climb ladders and scaffolding, stand for long periods on uneven ground, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle, work in various weather conditions and adhere strictly to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Quick thinking, decision-making and concentration under stress; ability to learn complex tasks and remember them after training.

What we offer

• Salary range of $91,000 to $169,000 depending on experience and location.
