Validation Driver – Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator

About the role

As a Validation Driver you will act as the certified human safety operator on Moove’s autonomous vehicles during the pilot phase in Dubai. While the vehicle drives itself, you will monitor its performance, communicate with the Remote Operations Centre and take manual control whenever safety requires it. The role is safety‑critical and works closely with engineering and validation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Occupy the driver seat for all autonomous vehicle operations, maintaining continuous situational awareness.
• Monitor AV system behavior, sensor alerts and onboard displays, and intervene manually when required.
• Communicate real‑time status updates with the Remote Operations Centre in clear English.
• Follow pre‑trip, in‑trip and post‑trip safety checklists and complete digital shift reports.
• Log all events, interventions, anomalies and environmental observations using onboard digital tools.
• Conduct thorough pre‑trip vehicle inspections and report any damage or sensor issues.

Required profile

• Valid UAE driving licence with a clean record and at least three years of driving experience in the UAE or GCC.
• Professional‑level English (read, write, speak) for clear communication and reporting.
• Comfortable using tablets, touch‑screens and onboard software; experience with fleet apps is a plus.
• Calm and composed under pressure with the ability to make rapid, correct decisions.
• High attention to detail for checklists, logs and incident documentation.
• RTA safety driver certification or prior AV/ADAS experience is advantageous.
• Secondary school certificate minimum; technical diploma in automotive, engineering or IT is a plus.
• Willingness to work shift patterns including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
