Vascular Surgery Specialist

About the role

The Vascular Surgery Specialist works alongside the Consultant Physician to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centered care within the vascular surgery division. The role involves diagnosing and treating complex vascular conditions, managing patient care plans, and contributing to the education of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, take medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and administer medication, therapy, and perform necessary vascular procedures or surgeries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consulting other specialists and support services to ensure integrated patient care.
• Document clinical information accurately and timely in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
• Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to residents, junior doctors, and medical students.
• Communicate clinical information compassionately to patients and families, obtaining informed consent as required.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completed residency or fellowship in vascular surgery or related specialization.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of clinical experience post‑specialization.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi license or eligibility letter, and current license from the country of last practice.
• Certificate of Good Standing from the relevant licensing authority.
• Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages are an asset.
