Veterinarian – Small Animal Medicine & Surgery

About the role

Pawspact, a premium pet‑family veterinary clinic in Abu Dhabi, is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join its small‑animal team. The role combines hands‑on surgery with comprehensive consultations, diagnostics and community outreach, all within a transparent, evidence‑based practice culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct consultations, wellness exams and vaccinations for dogs, cats and other small companion animals.
• Diagnose and treat medical cases using in‑house laboratory and imaging facilities.
• Perform a broad range of advanced soft‑tissue surgeries, including abdominal procedures, mass removals, hernia repairs, urogenital surgery and dental extractions.
• Manage the full surgical pathway: pre‑operative work‑up, anaesthesia planning, intra‑operative care and post‑operative pain management and follow‑up.
• Provide honest communication and transparent quotes to pet owners.
• Support fit‑to‑fly examinations, TNR programmes and community education initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to clinical protocols and content.

Required profile

• DVM/BVSc or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Eligibility for, or possession of, a MOCCAE veterinary licence to practice in the UAE.
• Minimum 5 years of small‑animal clinical experience with a strong surgical record.
• Demonstrated competence in advanced soft‑tissue surgery (orthopaedic cases are referred).
• Confident in anaesthesia and peri‑operative management, including higher‑risk patients.
• Evidence‑based clinical judgment and willingness to seek second opinions.
• Fluent, clear communication in English.
