Veterinary Nurse – Clinical Care & Surgery

About the role

The Ark Animal Clinic in Dubai is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join its clinical team. You will work side‑by‑side with veterinarians, handling anaesthesia, theatre preparation, and post‑operative patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics and surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating theatre, instruments and patients for surgery.
• Monitor anaesthesia and recovery, reporting any changes promptly.
• Provide care for hospitalised and post‑operative patients, including fluid therapy and medication administration.
• Collect samples, run in‑house laboratory tests and maintain accurate medical records.
• Maintain hygiene, sterilisation and infection‑control standards, and manage clinical supplies.
• Communicate care instructions clearly to pet owners.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree (DVM/BVSc) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on small‑animal clinical experience.
• Proven surgical assistance and anaesthesia monitoring skills.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Calm, organised and reliable in a fast‑paced clinic.

Required skills

• IV catheter placement, fluid therapy and blood sampling.
• Digital X‑ray operation and in‑house lab analysers.
• Experience with emergency or ICU cases.
• Familiarity with practice‑management software (e.g., ezyVet).
