Vice President Finance – MAF Retail

About the role

Majid Al Futtaim Holding is the leading shopping mall, retail, communities and entertainment developer and operator in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. The Vice President Finance (Country Finance Manager) leads MAF Retail's finance function, sets its strategic direction and annual objectives, oversees the annual business plan and leads the function's strategy to achieve business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in setting and reviewing MAF Retail's strategy, together with the management team, and the strategic objectives, business plans and budgets needed to deliver it.
• Assess the finance function's capabilities in terms of resources, including technology, processes and people, so the right resources are available.
• Lead the design, review and update of financial systems, procedures and policies, aligned with the group's strategy.
• Lead the costing of the company's products, balancing profit margins against production costs.
• Work with department heads on their annual objectives, business plans and budgets, cascaded from the departmental plans.
• Prepare and update the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international financial reporting principles.
• Ensure all financial and regulatory reports required by law and management are completed, and that accounting follows IFRS.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in a finance department in a managerial position.
• 5+ years in the retail industry.
• Demonstrated high-level management skills.
• Experienced communicator able to engage stakeholders.
