Visiting or Regular Faculty – Computer Science & Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for visiting and regular faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, commencing in Fall 2027. Visiting appointments focus primarily on teaching, while regular appointments require an active research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Develop and update curricula and course materials.
• For regular faculty: establish and lead a research program, secure internal and external funding, and supervise graduate students.
• Participate in departmental service, committees, and academic advising.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong teaching portfolio.
• Experience with the American model of higher education is highly desirable.
• For regular faculty: evidence of an active research record and ability to attract funding.
