Visiting & Regular Faculty – Computer Science & Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the American University of Sharjah is hiring both visiting and regular faculty members to start in Fall 2027. Visiting faculty focus on delivering high‑quality undergraduate teaching on a one‑year renewable contract, while regular faculty are expected to build an active research programme on a three‑year renewable contract.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Develop and update course materials and assessments.
• For regular faculty, design and lead a research agenda, publish scholarly work and secure internal or external research funding.
• Participate in departmental meetings, student advising and academic service.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong teaching portfolio.
• For regular faculty, evidence of research productivity and ability to obtain funding.
• Familiarity with the American model of higher education is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Expertise in core Computer Science and Computer Engineering subjects.
