VP - Corporate Registry & Governance (UAE National)

About the role

A prominent financial services organisation based in Dubai is looking for an experienced legal professional to join its team in a senior regulatory and corporate governance capacity. The position is advertised by Mark Williams as a permanent vacancy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the administration and implementation of applicable corporate laws and regulations, aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage company incorporation, registration, continuation, striking-off and business activity classification processes.
• Provide legal and regulatory guidance on the interpretation of legislation in registration and licensing matters.
• Support risk-based compliance frameworks, coordinating regulatory inspections, reviews and enforcement actions where required.
• Contribute to corporate governance and committee functions, including agendas, papers, recommendations and decision-making frameworks.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, government authorities and regulatory bodies on registration, licensing, compliance and information sharing.
• Drive continuous improvement of registry systems, processes and service delivery, and support the management and development of registry teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification (mandatory).
• 5-8 years of relevant legal, regulatory, corporate or registry experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate and commercial legislation and the UAE regulatory environment.
• Knowledge of company registration, incorporation, licensing and corporate governance.
• Exposure to both civil law and common law systems.
• Previous experience in a regulatory authority, free zone, government entity or professional services firm is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AML/CFT, CRS, FATCA and Economic Substance Regulations.
• Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
