VP Finance / Head of Finance for Fintech Startup

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned finance leader to transform and build the finance function of a fast‑growing fintech startup. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the full finance operation and drive automation, systemisation and restructuring to support rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the redesign and automation of finance processes, turning a 10‑person, process‑heavy team into a lean, technology‑enabled unit.
• Own the end‑to‑end finance function, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance.
• Implement and integrate modern ERP and finance automation tools.
• Partner with the business as a strategic finance advisor, freeing resources from manual bottlenecks.
• Build the finance function from scratch, establishing SOPs, workflows and documented systems.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or MBA (Finance) and a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 10–15 years of finance experience, with at least 4 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven track record of finance transformation and system implementation.
• Experience in high‑transaction digital businesses (fintech, payments, e‑commerce, SaaS) and companies of 50–500 employees.
• Knowledge of GCC/UAE tax, VAT, corporate tax and banking environments is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Hands‑on implementation of modern ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle Fusion).
• Experience with AP/AR automation platforms (Tipalti, Bill.com, Basware).
• Familiarity with close automation tools (BlackLine, FloQast, Trintech).
• Use of modern FP&A platforms (Pigment, Cube, Mosaic, Anaplan).
• Proficiency in BI and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and strong Excel skills.
