VP of Audit - Fraud Investigations & Trade Finance

About the role

The VP of Audit is sought to lead complex internal audit engagements, fraud investigations and special reviews within a financial institution. The role helps identify control weaknesses, strengthen operational risk management and ensure robust governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex fraud investigations and targeted special reviews, identify control failures, establish root causes and recommend remedial actions
• Manage audit teams, oversee end-to-end audit engagements and help develop and run risk-based audit plans
• Present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and executive committees, challenge existing practices and engage with regulators
• Produce high-quality audit reports, give practical recommendations and follow up on corrective actions until completed

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of internal audit experience in finance, with strong expertise in operational controls, risk-based auditing and operations
• Strong knowledge of trade finance operations, SWIFT payments, corporate banking processes and their operational risks
• CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent professional audit qualification, with knowledge of Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and recognised banking audit methodologies
