VTS Supervisor – Vessel Traffic Service

About the role

The VTS Supervisor will lead the Vessel Traffic Service centre, ensuring safe and efficient vessel movements within the port area. Reporting to the Competent Authority, the role combines operational oversight with team leadership to meet regulatory and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily VTS operations and guarantee service quality for users and the authority.
• Coordinate interfaces between VTS, allied services and other port facilities.
• Maintain optimal staffing levels and equipment readiness in the VTS control room.
• Conduct annual performance assessments and re‑validation training for VTS operators.
• Lead the VTS team, manage high‑volume vessel traffic, and enforce safety procedures and incident reporting.
• Deliver in‑house marine training and on‑the‑job toolbox talks.

Required profile

• Diploma with a valid VTS C0103‑2 certification.
• Experience in maritime operations and VTS procedures.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and handle confidential information.
