Waiter / Waitress

About the role

Cipriani Dolci Nad Al Sheba, hired through Hosco in Dubai, is looking for a skilled Waiter or Waitress to take orders and deliver food and beverages to customers. The role suits someone patient, personable and persevering, able to work in fast-paced environments and in shifts, including occasionally on weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and escort customers to their tables, present the menu and give detailed information on portions, ingredients and potential allergens
• Prepare tables with linens, silverware and glasses, arrange settings and keep the dining area tidy
• Inform guests about the day's specials and recommend dishes, upselling when appropriate
• Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system, order slips or memory, and check IDs for alcohol consumption
• Communicate orders to the kitchen, serve them, check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and report problems
• Deliver checks, collect payments and carry dirty plates and glassware to the kitchen
• Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes and reservation service specifications
• Follow health department regulations and provide excellent customer service

Required profile

• Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
• High school diploma; food safety training is a plus
• Politeness, attentiveness and patience with customers, strong presentation skills
• Team spirit, active listening and effective communication with kitchen staff
• Flexibility to work in shifts

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with a cash register and ordering system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
• Basic math skills
• Organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
