Winch Operator

About the role

The Winch Operator will be responsible for safely operating winches and related hydraulic equipment on shipping and marine vessels in the United Arab Emirates. The role requires a solid understanding of load capacities, technical manuals, and routine maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy winch machinery and hydraulic systems according to safety standards.
• Interpret technical manuals and load charts to select appropriate equipment for each task.
• Monitor and adjust load capacities to prevent over‑loading.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Coordinate with crew members to ensure smooth and safe operations.
• Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience operating winches or similar heavy machinery in a shipping/marine environment.
• Educational qualification of 12th grade, Diploma or ITI in a relevant field.
• Ability to work on‑site in the UAE and adapt to shift schedules.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to maritime regulations.
