Workshop Technician – Rotating Equipment

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Workshop Technician specialized in rotating equipment to join its industrial maintenance workshop in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for maintaining, refurbishing and troubleshooting a wide range of high‑pressure compressors, turbines and pump equipment used in oil & gas, petrochemical and refinery environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on workshop machinery and rotating equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, refurbish and re‑assemble valve shop, machine shop and fabrication shop equipment.
• Carry out dimensional inspections, measurements and lapping of mechanical seals and valve plates.
• Maintain workshop tools, grinding wheels and consumables according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Preserve refurbished parts, spares and special tools with proper identification and traceability.
• Maintain accurate inspection logs and electronic maintenance records.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and work instructions.
• Follow HSE requirements, Permit to Work, e‑WMS procedures and PPE regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in large industrial maintenance workshops.
• Proven experience with high‑pressure compressors, steam/gas turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps.
• Background in petrochemical, refinery or oil & gas plants is highly preferred.
• Secondary School Certificate or Technical/Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
