Accountant II

About the role

The Accountant II will join the finance team of Danat Al Emarat, a leading women’s and children’s hospital in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for a range of accounting and financial reporting activities that support the hospital’s operations and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post daily and monthly journal entries, including accruals.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations for cash, bank accounts, pre‑payments and fixed assets, investigating any discrepancies.
• Produce accurate financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing activities within established timelines.
• Ensure all financial transactions comply with internal policies, local tax regulations and international accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, variance analysis and required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Up to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience in budget setting and management for a complex organization.
