Accountant

About the role

CNTXT is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its fast‑growing AI‑powered technology team in Abu Dhabi. You will own day‑to‑day financial operations, ensure accuracy, and support both month‑end and year‑end closing while collaborating across multiple business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting tasks including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, intercompany transactions, and balance‑sheet items.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expense claims.
• Issue customer invoices and monitor collections.
• Assist in preparing management reports, financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash‑flow reports.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, depreciation schedules, and ensure UAE VAT compliance.
• Support external audits and provide required documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
• Professional fluency in English with excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as Zoho Books, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Odoo.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis).
