Accountant – Multi-Entity Finance Operations

About the role

Munich Re is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple entities in its Dubai office. The role focuses on accurate transaction recording, financial reporting, and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities for several entities, ensuring accurate transaction capture and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash‑flow statements.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, performing ledger monitoring and reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
• Ensure adherence to local accounting standards and tax regulations across regions.
• Coordinate with external auditors, providing required documentation and schedules.
• Maintain and update the ERP system (e.g., Oracle), guaranteeing data integrity and completeness.
• Produce financial analysis, management reports, and ad‑hoc financial insights to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multinational organization.
• Proven experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyse large data sets.
• Excellent written and spoken English with effective communication across all organizational levels.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
